ANIMAL
Photo scanned from a contact sheet. May be my new process. I'm really liking the grit you get from upscaling such a small photo via text. I know a lot of people are stuck on the idea of the how analog produces a more organic/gritty texture, but why aren't we aspiring for more digital processed textures? In a world full of computers why are we so desperate to escape our dependency on technology, why not make it more apparent? Just a thought.
RIP Steve Jobs
I can't say that I was surprised when Steve Jobs stepped down a couple of weeks back, but I wasn't prepared for this. It's a sad day not only for Silicon Valley but for anyone and everyone who has been changed by the work of Steve Jobs and Apple. He will be missed.
ALTERED LANDSCAPES
I need to start taking more photos. This isn't mine, but it is inspiring. I am currently taking a photography class at Cal State Fullerton. Not doing too well. I'm doing fine as my grade goes. However I can't seem to really grasp how to conceptually form a good photo. With everything else I'm doing this semester I feel like there just isn't enough time. Where has all of my time gone?
Altitude: Contemporary Swiss Graphic Design
I need to order this soon. I've wanted it for awhile now. Does anyone own it? One of the better book purchases I have made in awhile was mimimalist graphics by Julia Schnolau. You would know this if I posted more. I have been meaning to post all of my finds from San Francisco awhile back. Maybe I will get to that once my life calms. < /rant>

EXPERIMENTAL JETSET
Rewatched 'Helvetica' again. Couldn't help but run to my laptop and look up some of the work by Experimental Jetset. These guys are one of my favorite design studios. Mostly working with black and white Helvetica Bold. Just when you think you're done with Helvetica it keeps pulling you back in.
IT'S FRIDAY BUT WE ON THURSDAY
DAMN. This album was much anticipated. Kind of bummed that it came out the last week of my summer though. Back to school next week. Now I have some "sit at my computer and do graphic design homework" music. 'The Zone' is that joint. One of the better songs of the genre in a long time.
BACHMOBILE
I don't even know what to say about this video. Spike Jonze killed it. This is possibly one of the most "feel good" rap videos I have ever seen. It makes me wish I had millions of dollars to buy a Maybach so I could chop it up and fill it with models and Aziz Ansari. Why did I blog this? It will be on every blog by the end of this sentence.
